Prague by private jet Estimated flight time from Paris : 1h30
The jewel of the Czech Republic and its capital, Prague, offers visitors a blend of history and cosmopolitan flair. Located on the Vltava River, the city is brimming with culture.
Art galleries, museums, theaters and historic sites abound here, and the city center is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Add world-class shopping and restaurants to this cultural wealth and you get a highly sought-after luxury destination that promises an unforgettable trip!
To explore the original beauty and soul of Prague, an unbeatable way… See it from the top of its towers! From a bird’s-eye view, admire the unusual vistas of old squares, the red rooftops, the Vltava, its bridges and quays. Only from high above can you estimate the total number of Prague’s towers and spires (around a thousand, not counting the small turrets decorating bourgeois buildings). The most beautiful and precious towers are now open to the public. The Old Town Bridge Tower on the Old Town side of Charles Bridge is considered the most beautiful Gothic tower in Europe, and the most evocative work of non-religious Gothic in the world. It was built before 1380 and formed part of the fortifications of Charles Bridge. It comes from the workshop of Petr Parler, master mason at court and architect of Charles Bridge. This gem of Gothic architecture was built over twenty-five years and required the work of about a hundred stonemasons. The newest and tallest tower in the historic center is the Petřín Lookout. Standing 58.7 m high at an elevation of 327 m, it offers the city at your feet. Also visit Charles Bridge, the oldest bridge in Prague. Built of sandstone blocks and flanked by towers at each end (Malá Strana side and Old Town side), it was progressively adorned between 1683 and 1928 with no fewer than 30 statues of saints by artists such as M. Braun and F. M. Brokof, each set on a bridge pier.
JetMiles Recommendation: Kampa, the urban island. With its park—one of the most romantic and picturesque places in Prague—it’s no surprise that Kampa was voted the second most beautiful urban island in the world by the prestigious travel site VirtualTourist. The island’s lawns are ideal for picnics and relaxation in general.
Of course, Prague means the Old Town—don’t hesitate to lose yourself in its lanes. Once you reach the main square, you’ll discover the Astronomical Clock, the Church of Our Lady before Týn, and the Town Hall. Don’t miss the Golden Lane, one of Prague’s most beautiful streets, where Franz Kafka lived between 1916 and 1917. Finally, if you have time, attend a performance of Black Light Theatre, one of Prague’s most typical shows. The most famous and best-loved piece is Aspects of Alice. The theater is on Karlova Street, just a few meters from Charles Bridge.
Save one of the best for last: The Town Hall is among the most important monuments in the Czech Republic. Founded in 1338 as the seat of the Old Town council of Prague, it consists of a complex of five medieval houses, whose sides are adorned with an astronomical clock, a Gothic oriel, and a monumental prismatic tower. The panoramic gallery of the Town Hall tower offers a breathtaking view over Prague. Tours of the historic rooms of the Old Town Hall provide a unique experience. Richly decorated rooms from different periods testify to the remarkable evolution of the Town Hall building complex. An invaluable gem—an absolute must-see!
